The Gemini images from the previous update gave me a better understanding of what I'd like to see done for the growth simulation. From there, I came up with a list of what I need to complete.
Assets:
Vines / Ivy
Ferns
Grass / Mushrooms
I made a rough layout of the bedroom and the camera position to help guide where I'll be placing my assets. I wanted to focus on the larger shapes for now and smaller details when I get the approval from my team and mentors.
I coincidentally created a procedural grass tool over my winter break for a different project. I think this is a great foundation to work from, and it will give me the opportunity to focus on the simulation portion of my work.

Hello, and welcome to my first blog of the SANM x Harbor x ETC class! I will be working alongside my team members over the course of 10 weeks to create a product commercial based on the feedback of our mentors: Harbor and Electric Theater Co (ETC). I will be frequently documenting my progress and ideas for our project weekly.
To start, our group (Tempest) came up with a variety of different ideas to portray the required theme of "High Technology". Our ideas were organized into short scripts and storyboards to then be voted on. In the end we agreed to pitch a VR glasses commercial!

We collectively agreed to use sci-fi as our leading theme, and a VR headset perfectly supports our interests. The idea of 'transporting
' into a different reality with Ai and high technology was something we really wanted to explore.
For my portion of the project, I am responsible for the vegetation growth simulation! Once the user puts on the VR glasses, they're 'transported' into the sci-fi world the headset's Ai creates. Futuristic plants take over the entire bedroom. Here are some ideations I created using Gemini's Nano Banana:
Here are some more references I found to help me plan out shot #4. I really enjoy the futuristic look of the Avatar’s Pandora environment I think it perfectly fits the theme my team is trying to achieve. Although the world is fake, I’d still like to reference the flora organization on the ground. The rest of my references are from real-world examples.
Our VR headset idea still needs polished shot-wise, but the consensus for the growth simulation (shot #4) was positive. Shot #4 's previs will be completed this weekend to be approved by my team members.
